  • Master of Medical Science in community medicine, health care planning and health education (University of Nottingham, UK, 1975) – thesis on provision of services for profoundly mentally handicapped adolescents
  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (University of Cambridge 1981) leading to wide experience in many branches of human biology and clinical medicine via hospital internships, residencies and GP training (UK, 1981-86)
